How we Help
The Markham Food Bank has been Assisting the Community Since 1984
The Markham Food Bank is committed to creating a welcoming environment of fairness and equality for everyone that walks through our doors.
What We Offer
When visiting the Markham Food Bank, you will receive 7 to 10 days worth of nutritious food. This will include canned/packaged food as well as fresh foods like milk, fresh fruits and vegetables or meat when available. We try to give some choice in the food provided based on Canada's Food Guide.
Beyond food, we also try to provide clients with necessary personal hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. If you have a child under one year, you will be offered formula and diapers as well.
We do our best to provide the same items to each client every visit, but items are subject to availability.
Information for Clients
Clients of the Markham Food Bank must be reside in the City of Markham and only one food order can be allocated per address.
Each visit, you will have to provide proof of Markham residency with a piece of photo ID that shows your address, or a piece of mail with a piece of photo ID. If you do not currently have a permanent address, please speak to one of our directors.
You are welcome to visit the Markham Food Bank once every 28 days.
