Make a difference in your community by donating to the Markham Food Bank today!
The Markham Food Bank is constantly in search of volunteers as we depend solely on volunteers for all aspects of our operations. We pride ourselves as we do not have any paid positions. All cash donations go directly towards maintenance, operating supplies and purchasing low-supply items for clients.
The Food Bank welcomes student volunteers looking to fulfill secondary school requirements (or to simply make a difference in their community!). Student volunteers must be at least in Grade 9 and must reside in the Markham area.
Update March 2021: We are not accepting secondary school volunteers at this time.
Please complete the volunteer application and someone will contact you. Walk in volunteers will not be accepted.
Regular volunteer hours run every week:
Tuesday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Thursday 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Saturday 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Donations of food, cash and personal hygiene products are accepted by the Food Bank year-round.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are limiting the amount of people volunteering with our food bank to ensure compliance with public health regulations.
We are not accepting applications for high school students completing their community service hours. Please visit www.volunteermarkham.ca to find other volunteer options available in Markham.
At this time, we are seeking adult volunteers who can commit to volunteering on a regular basis (min. 1 day per week) for a minimum of 6 months. If you fit this criteria, please fill out our volunteer application and someone will be in touch.
